Union Square upgraded its subway station in 2000. There are now all sorts of cool design elements everywhere! In one concourse, the architects took the wiring and highlighted it with angled mirrorboxes set into the wall -- this particular one says "mesh" and "grate," others say "lighting," "air," and so on.
