The Hudson is a nice hotel on the West Side, a couple of blocks from Central Park. The place is beautifully decorated, but populated almost exclusively by poseurs. It reminds me of an old Leonard Cohen line:

"I'm sentimental, if you know what I mean

I love the country but I can't stand the scene."
